Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

1. Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products and providing samples to customers.
2. Gain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
3. Prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, using proper equipment.
4. Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items.
5. Label, stock, sign, and inventory merchandise.
6. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
7. Maintain awareness of inventory and store layout to assist customers effectively.
8. Adhere to health, safety, and food safety regulations.
9. Follow merchandising, customer service, safety, and loss prevention policies.
10. Report safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents.
11. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Any retail experience
• Bakery or cake decorating experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Basic math skills
• Effective communication skills

Desired:

• Second language skills (speaking, reading, or writing)
