BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR (Finance)

Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Minimum requirements:

• Any retail experience
• Any bakery/cake decorating experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Knowledge of basic math
• Effective communication skills

Desired skills and responsibilities:

• Second language: speaking, reading, and/or writing
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and store
• Gain and maintain product knowledge to respond to customer inquiries and make suggestions
• Offer product samples, prepare bakery items including wedding cakes using proper equipment
• Recommend bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and use bakery equipment according to guidelines
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory merchandise
• Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager
• Understand store layout to assist customers in locating products; stay current with ads and promotions
• Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, report discrepancies
• Follow all health, safety, and civil regulations
• Adhere to merchandising, customer service, labor control, safety, and loss prevention policies
• Practice safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management
• Perform equipment inspections and report repairs needed
• Report safety risks, illegal activities, customer or employee accidents

Salary Range: $17.52 - $24.65
