Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a friendly Baker to prepare and finish cakes, breads, pastries, and Mexican/Central American specialties. You will ensure quality and freshness while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced bakery.

The role involves stocking displays, monitoring ovens, and assisting customers with orders. Candidates should be comfortable working afternoons/evenings/weekends and be legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience in baking traditional Mexican, Central American, and American pastries.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and mentor others.
• Knowledge of baking methods and ingredients.
• Experience using bakery equipment and ovens.
• Basic computer and math skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Basic understanding of English language.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with bakery and cake orders in-store or by phone.
• Prepare doughs, batters, and mixtures; monitor oven temperatures.
• Stock and rotate baked goods; maintain attractive displays; upsell products.
• Follow safety and sanitation protocols; comply with health codes.
• Assist coworkers and maintain a clean, organized department.
• Pack, weigh, and price merchandise; minimize waste; transport items as needed.
• Clean equipment and surfaces; perform additional tasks as assigned.
