Position Objective: To assist customers by producing, stocking, and packaging high-quality baked items efficiently, courteously, and friendly manner.

Reporting to: Bakery Manager

Status: Non-exempt

Knowledge

Certifications and training required include:

• Food handling permit within first 14 days of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training as per Cosentino’s Learning Plan.

Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills

Essential Job Functions

• Implement Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
• Merchandise cases to ensure fullness, freshness, and attractiveness.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Efficiently bake all items as requested by Bakery Manager.
• Know store items, procedures, and policies to answer customer questions accurately and courteously.
• Rotate fresh products to prevent stale or outdated items.
• Restock bakery ingredients daily and notify manager for reordering.
• Unload incoming shipments and stock neatly without damage.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Comply with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math and reading skills required.

Non-Essential Job Functions

• Promote sales through suggestive selling and samples.
• Handle customer complaints professionally.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed and develop new skills.

Physical Abilities

Essential Abilities

• Reach overhead up to 70 inches, twist, lift up to 20 lbs.
• Pushing/pulling items up to 20 lbs.
• Stand and walk for long periods.
• Lift and carry up to 35 lbs occasionally.
• Bend and squat to floor level.
• Work in cold conditions of coolers and freezers.
