Description

California Minimum Wage is $16.50/hr effective 1/1/2025.
Some Cities have higher Minimum Wages (LA City currently is $17.28/hr).

Job Duties:

1. Greet all customers in a friendly manner.
2. Inspect machinery at beginning of day for potential repairs and report need for repairs to Bakery Manager.
3. Prepare breads, pastries, etc.
4. Ensure that breads, pastries, etc. are cooked at the proper temperature and length of time.
5. Clean machinery at end of day.
6. Perform all other assigned job duties.

Job Requirements:

1. Must obey all State and Federal guidelines regarding health and safety policies.
2. Use of machinery (Mixers, Ovens, Proofers, “Bolillo” roller, etc.).
3. Wear proper uniform: White collared dress shirt with a solid black tie or optional Vallarta polo shirt, white pants, solid black anti-slip shoes, hat, hairnet, etc.
4. Work in temperatures ranging from cold to hot.
5. Wash hands frequently with hot water from elbows down for not less than 20 seconds.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Lift boxes and product ranging between 5 lbs up to 60 lbs.
2. Place boxes/product onto dolly, cart or preparation table.
3. Push/pull between 10 lbs up to 350 lbs (items on cart/dolly).
4. Bend/Stoop to pick up and or place product below waist level (including shelves and racks).
5. Grasp/Grip product to prepare for sales floor by either cutting or cleaning product.
6. Assist with sweeping/pushing broom to pick up debris to keep work area clean.
7. Reach above shoulder level (produce placement on sales floor plus shelving/rack system in bakery warehouse areas).
8. Place debris/trash/recycle cardboard in respective areas.
