Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Baker is responsible for preparing, baking, and packaging all baked goods.

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
• Provide high-quality customer service and ensure Bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, maintaining cleanliness of the Bakery department
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, products, floors, and removing hazards
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy; monitor product rotation and discard outdated items
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality

Qualifications

To be a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
• Dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, and good customer interaction skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously; ability to lift trays up to 5 lbs., and transfer items up to 40 lbs. over distances
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards; maintain a Food Handlers permit
