Job summary

Jackson’s Food Company in Wisconsin is hiring a Bagger Operator to ensure the consistent packaging of high-quality, food-safe products. You will monitor bagger feed rates, run assigned packaging equipment, and uphold GMP and SQF procedures to keep an audit-ready environment.

You’ll perform internal quality checks, document accurately, train teammates, and communicate issues promptly to the Production Lead or Supervisor.

Qualifications

Position Summary

As a Bagger Operator at Jackson’s Food Company, you are responsible for ensuring the consistent packaging of high-quality, food-safe products that meet all company specifications. This role supports efficient production by conducting internal quality checks, monitoring bagger feed rates, and operating assigned packaging equipment according to established standards. You play a key part in maintaining an audit-ready environment through proper equipment setup, cleanliness, disassembly, and adherence to GMPs and SQF documentation requirements. The Bagar Operator communicates equipment or production concerns promptly to the Production Lead or Supervisor and assists in training team members on packaging processes and safety procedures. Accuracy in documentation, attention to detail, and a commitment to minimizing shrinkage and waste contribute directly to improved yields and overall operational performance. Through reliable execution and teamwork, the Bagger Operator helps ensure smooth product flow from the fry room to finished packaging

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required.   • Responsible for packaging high-quality, food-safe products that meet Jackson’s specifications and quality standards.
  • Communicate progress on daily job tasks and report production disruptions to the Production Lead in a timely manner.
  • Conduct internal quality checks following Jackson’s SQF guidelines, including seal integrity, code date accuracy, bag weights, and packaging appearance.
  • Provide training to team members as outlined in the onboarding plan, including equipment operation, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Notify the Production Supervisor promptly if equipment is not meeting productivity standards or if run rates fall below expectations.
  • Monitor bagger feed rate to ensure consistent chip flow based on fry counts per hour, in collaboration with the fry room; performance measured through the plant hourly KPI tracker.
  • Operate assigned equipment, including setup, startup, shutdown, cleaning, disassembly, and selecting correct programs on the HMI.
  • Replenish film, seasonings, and packaging materials as needed, with performance measured by plant KPIs and line run time.
  • Verify that all required documentation is completed accurately and on time in accordance with Jackson’s SQF program.
  • Actively contribute to minimizing shrinkage and waste to support overall yield improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work area at all times.
  • Follow all GMPs, food safety policies, allergen controls, and sanitation procedures.
  • Communicate equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns immediately to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with fry room and quality teams to ensure smooth product flow and consistent packaging performance.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training in food manufacturing or machine operation.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
