Job summary

Winn-Dixie is seeking a dedicated team member for a cashier/stock associate role at our Inverness, FL store. You will assist customers at checkout, bag items, and help move groceries to vehicles while maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

Responsibilities include unloading, packing, price checks, restocking, cart retrieval and strict adherence to safety and food-handling standards, including USDA/COOL compliance when relevant.

Responsibilities

• Restock and use supplies efficiently to minimize waste; clean spills and remove trash in store and parking lot.
• Clean all store areas; perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Collect carts from parking lot and return to designated area.

Job Summary

Increases customer confidence and loyalty by providing accurate, fast and courteous customer checkout. This individual effectively packages customer purchases and expedites the flow of groceries from checkout lane to customer's vehicle.

Responsibility

Assists customers in unloading purchases onto the conveyor belt at the checkout. Packs 40% customer purchases in a manner to prevent damages, carry or push groceries in a shopping cart to the customer’s car and load groceries into the vehicle. Checks the price of merchandise in all departments, as needed.

Returns discarded or returned merchandise. Restocks and uses supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost. Cleans spills, collect and pick up trash inside store and parking lot.

Cleans all areas inside and outside of store. Performs basic shelf conditioning.

Collects shopping carts from parking lot and other areas and return to designated area.

Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained. Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) & Country of Origin Labeling (COOL), and Department of Agriculture (DOA). Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner while ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access. Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspects and identifies unsafe conditions to report to store management. Notifies management of customer or employee accidents. Reports all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud. Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations. Cultivates a culture of safety within the store. Ensures self and all associates are working safely and have received necessary safety training. Ensures Hazardous Assessments are posted for associate reference and that Personal Protective Equipment is available and utilized by all associates executing tasks within the department, as required. Ensures equipment is in good repair; reports and assists with remediation (ex. lock out/tag out of equipment) of safety hazards within the department.
