Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy in Eugene, Oregon is seeking a dependable Backup Delivery Driver to provide scheduled and on-call coverage across Local, North, South, Hospice, and Transport routes. A company-provided vehicle is used for all deliveries and related tasks.

The role focuses on Monday–Friday afternoon/evening coverage with occasional weekend work. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth within a leading long-term care pharmacy services provider.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to drive confidently in all weather and road conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable learning new systems and technology.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and on-call coverage.
• Previous delivery, courier, pharmacy, healthcare, or logistics experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cover scheduled vacations, call-ins, and additional route needs.
• Safely and confidently drive assigned routes in all weather and road conditions.
• Plan efficient delivery routes and complete deliveries accurately, safely, and on time.
• Perform final visual checks of medications before departure.
• Sort, scan, and bag medications and organize them for the appropriate delivery routes.
• Check totes to ensure orders are complete before departure.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Pick up returns and refused medications and exchange emergency kits/IV boxes as needed.
• Assist with processing, Toter, and Scanner duties when needed.
• Use a smartphone and/or computer for GPS routing, communication, Workday, and other assigned tasks.
• Follow all company policies and patient privacy requirements.

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented Backup Delivery Driver to provide scheduled and on-call coverage across all delivery areas, including Local, North, South, Hospice, and Transport routes.

This position will primarily provide Monday–Friday afternoon/evening coverage for vacations, call-outs, and periods of high delivery volume, with occasional weekend coverage as needed. The ideal candidate will also be willing to learn our processing systems and assist with Toter/Scanner responsibilities when needed.
