Job summary

Sam’s Club Visalia is opening a brand‑new club and seeks dependable Backroom Associates to join our founding team. You’ll receive shipments, organize merchandise, and maintain backroom operations in a fast‑paced environment while ensuring safety and accuracy.

As a founding member, you’ll help establish processes, support inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, and ensure smooth restocking to the sales floor. Forklift certification is required or will be obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and process shipments in accordance with company procedures.
• Verify merchandise counts, organize receiving reports, and route merchandise to appropriate areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe backroom and receiving area.
• Track and process claims, including damaged goods and returned merchandise.
• Prepare and manage clearance and liquidation items.
• Operate equipment safely and follow all company safety standards and guidelines.
• Conduct safety checks and report unsafe conditions to management.

Keep Operations Moving Behind the Scenes

As a Backroom Associate at Sam’s Club, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring products are received, processed, and moved to the sales floor efficiently. Your work helps maintain inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, and ensure members have access to the products they need.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00*

• The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
