Sam’s Club Baytown is opening a brand-new club and seeking founding Backroom Associates to help organize receiving, inventory, and backroom operations. You will be part of a team that keeps shipments moving and stock accurately on the sales floor, ensuring safety standards are met in a fast-paced environment.

As a founding member, you’ll support a culture of excellence, participate in training opportunities, and contribute to delivering a great member experience from day one.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and process shipments in accordance with company procedures
• Verify merchandise counts, organize receiving reports, and route merchandise to appropriate areas
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe backroom and receiving area
• Track and process claims, including damaged goods and returned merchandise
• Prepare and manage clearance and liquidation items
• Operate equipment safely and follow all company safety standards and guidelines
• Conduct safety checks and report unsafe conditions to management
• Support inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, and maintain proper merchandise handling

Keep Operations Moving Behind the Scenes
As a Backroom Associate at Sam’s Club, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring products are received, processed, and moved to the sales floor efficiently. Your work helps maintain inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, and ensure members have access to the products they need.
In this role, you’ll spend your day receiving shipments, organizing merchandise, maintaining backroom operations, and supporting a fast-paced, high-volume environment while ensuring safety and accuracy in every task.

The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.00*

• The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

• Forklift Certification OR will obtain a Forklift Certification within 30 days of job entry date.
• Must be 18 years of age or older
