Sam’s Club Baytown is opening a brand-new club and seeking a dedicated Backroom Associate to help build a culture of excellence from day one. You will support receiving, organizing, and moving merchandise, while ensuring inventory accuracy and safety in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with a collaborative team, contribute to club operations, and have opportunities for training and advancement as the Baytown club develops. Join us to shape the member experience from the ground up.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification required or must obtain within 30 days of job entry date.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in fast-paced retail environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and process shipments according to company procedures.
• Verify merchandise counts, organize receiving reports, and route merchandise to appropriate areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe backroom and receiving area.
• Track and process claims, including damaged goods and returned merchandise.
• Prepare and manage clearance and liquidation items.
• Operate equipment safely and follow all company safety standards and guidelines.
• Conduct safety checks and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Support inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, and maintain proper merchandise handling.

Keep Operations Moving Behind the Scenes

As a Backroom Associate at Sam’s Club, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring products are received, processed, and moved to the sales floor efficiently. Your work helps maintain inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, and ensure members have access to the products they need. In this role, you’ll spend your day receiving shipments, organizing merchandise, maintaining backroom operations, and supporting a fast-paced, high-volume environment while ensuring safety and accuracy in every task.

Hourly Wage

The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
