Job summary

C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc is seeking a skilled Backhoe Operator to support grading operations and operate other heavy machinery as needed. The role includes traffic control, erosion measures, material handling, and site maintenance to ensure safety and efficiency on the job site.

You will work with various equipment including bulldozers, loaders, rollers, and trucks, and contribute to general site upkeep and stake maintenance. Weekend work is possible based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience operating backhoes of various sizes.
• Willingness to operate multiple heavy machines as needed.
• Commitment to job site safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate backhoes of all sizes for grading and excavation.
• Operate other equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, rollers, dump trucks, tampers, and pans as required.
• Flag traffic and set up traffic control devices for safe operations.
• Assist with erosion control setup and maintenance.
• Load and unload materials and supplies; ensure proper storage.
• Perform general job-site cleanup and maintain organized, safe work areas.
• Check and maintain grade stakes for accuracy.
• Regularly inspect and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Drive trucks to transport materials and equipment as needed.
• Assist with any other duties related to the job site operation.
