Ben E. Keith Company is seeking a Local Backhaul Driver (DOT) to ensure timely pickup and delivery of products from local vendors. You will schedule appointments, pick up product, and return it to the distribution center with a focus on accuracy and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 1 year of route driving experience, a Texas Class A CDL, and DOT certification. Some nights away, holidays, and Saturdays are expected as part of the schedule.

Position Summary And Responsibilities

Some weekends required. Most holidays required. Must be able to spend 1-2 nights out of town per week.

The purpose of the Local Backhaul Driver (DOT) is to ensure timely and accurate pick up of product from local vendors. You will be scheduling your appointments, picking up product and returning it to the distribution center.

Perform product deliveries along assigned routes, and other related duties to guarantee customer satisfaction.

Follow BEK transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.

Complete administrative tasks and related paperwork to guarantee the efficiency of transportation operations.

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements

At least 1 year of route driving experience required

DOT certification required

Valid Texas State Class A CDL license required

Must be able to spend one night per week out of town.

Will work some holidays and some Saturdays.

Basic Math Skills Required

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.

Ability to follow instructions and take direction.

Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs.

Must be able to walk extensively.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend at the waist, stoop, and squat to lift heavy items in a proper manner.

Ability to perform repetitive lifting of 50 lbs.

Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.
