Job summary

Garney Construction is seeking a Backfill Operator to join a construction crew in the Myrtle Beach area. The role involves operating machinery to excavate, backfill, trench, ditch, clear, loaming, fine grading, and final cleanup while sometimes performing laborer tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include backfilling after pipe installation, safe crew-based backfill, routine equipment maintenance, and moving trench boxes.

Qualifications

• Two to five years in construction experience.
• Utility work experience preferred.
• Firm knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance.
• Must be willing to work overtime and travel.

Backfill Operator

Position is available through Garney. To be considered you must have previous construction experience. As a Backfill Operator, you will operate machinery to perform activities such as excavating, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, loaming, fine grading, and final clean up. The Backfill Operator may perform functions of a laborer as required.
