Job summary

People Ai is looking for a Software Engineer to join their XCore team in Town of Poland, New York. In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining foundational systems that power every product at Backstory.ai, including designing low-latency APIs and creating reliable data pipelines.

We're seeking candidates with at least 3 years of backend development experience, along with proficiency in Python or Scala. You'll work in a collaborative environment, focusing on engineering best practices and contributing meaningfully to both product and engineering discussions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience building backend systems in an enterprise environment.
• 1+ years of experience programming in Python or Scala.
• Solid understanding of microservices and service-oriented architectures.

• Build and maintain performant, low-latency APIs and distributed microservices.
• Implement and maintain data pipelines that move large volumes of data.
• Contribute to production observability through alerting and dashboards.
