About the Role

As a Backend Systems Engineer at SERHANT., you will design, build, and maintain the AI-powered applications and infrastructure that support our technology platform. You’ll work autonomously across multiple projects, integrating large language models (LLMs), developing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and modernizing legacy systems while ensuring production stability. This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll own features end-to-end—from database design to API development—contributing directly to a scalable, modern, and intelligent technology ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design and build MCP services and REST microservices for AI agent integrations
• Build and maintain serverless applications with Azure Functions and FastAPI
• Own features end-to-end, including database schema design, API development, and deployment
• Transform legacy codebases into scalable, maintainable solutions
• Develop and maintain AI agents built in LangChain/CrewAI and comparable frameworks
• Deploy and manage cloud services in Azure (Functions, Container Apps, Service Bus)
• Implement monitoring, structured logging, and tracing with OpenTelemetry
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, trunk-based development, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver seamless experiences
• Research, adopt, and implement new frameworks, AI tools, and best practices to advance backend systems
