Job summary

GeekSoft Consulting is seeking a Software Engineer with strong backend development experience to build scalable applications and APIs. You will design, develop, and maintain backend services with Node.js, REST APIs, and various databases while integrating AI capabilities and enterprise data.

You will collaborate with frontend teams using Angular, implement authentication/authorization, and participate in CI/CD and deployment processes.

Qualifications

• Software Engineer with strong backend development experience to build scalable applications, APIs, and integrations.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and backend integrations connecting internal and external applications.
• Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable backend components using relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Implement authentication, authorization, logging, error handling, and API security.
• Collaborate with frontend developers working with Angular or similar frameworks.
• Integrate applications with LLM and Generative AI APIs.
• Support the development of RAG-based applications using enterprise data and documents.
• Work with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, tools, and custom integrations.
• Support the development of AI agents and agent-based workflows.
• Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot application/API issues.
• Participate in application deployment and CI/CD processes.
• Strong software development fundamentals with hands-on backend development experience in Node.js, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
• Strong experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of API authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth, JWT, and API keys.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Experience with Git, software development workflows, application architecture, error handling, logging, and debugging.
• Basic understanding or hands-on exposure to Generative AI concepts.
• Large Language Models (LLMs) and Prompt Engineering
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Embeddings, and Vector Databases
• Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI tool calling
• AI agents and agent workflows
• Integration with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, and Azure OpenAI
• Advanced machine learning or data science experience is not required.
• Experience with TypeScript and Angular or another modern JavaScript frontend framework.
• Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, pgvector, or Chroma.
• Experience building applications that integrate with enterprise AI services.
