Job summary

Megaport is recruiting a software engineer to evolve its core business systems. You will design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs in a Java/Spring environment while transitioning towards Kotlin/Spring Boot.

You will own features, reduce technical debt, and focus on scalable, secure services for customers and internal users. You will collaborate across teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to an agile engineering culture that emphasizes delivering high-quality software for

Qualifications

3+ years of software development experience in Java with OO design.
Experience building services and tools for web applications.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Data modelling with relational databases using SQL (Hibernate preferable).
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless customer integration.
Proactively manage and reduce technical debt while optimising system architecture.
Actively participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Applying and promoting best practices and design patterns within our engineering teams.
Drive the complete lifecycle of small feature development from concept to delivery.
Participate actively in Megaport's agile development process and drive continuous improvement.
