Job summary

FIS is seeking a Software Engineer in Illinois with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite) to help shape the future of financial technology. You will develop scalable software, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with a skilled team across backend, frontend, and product roles.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of software engineering experience in SaaS/FinTech, strong Java, JavaScript and Typescript skills, and experience with UI, RESTful APIs, microservices, and AI-powered development tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience in SaaS or FinTech.
• Preferred degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript and Typescript.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, Kiro, frontier LLMs).
• Experience with UI development, RESTful API integrations, and microservices.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and other PM tools.

• Take the lead in developing and delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Engage in full-stack development, from backend systems to user interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and QA engineers, to bring innovative features and products to market.
• Participate in agile development processes to deliver results efficiently.
• Drive exponential productivity gains in code generation, architectural design, automated testing, and rapid problem-solving.

What you Bring

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on SaaS or FinTech.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript and Typescript.
• Strong experience with leveraging AI‑powered development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Kiro, and frontier LLMs).
• Experience with UI development using modern web application framework, RESTful API integrations, microservices.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and other project management tools.

Pay Range

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full‑time position is $79,230.00 - $134,700.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
