Job summary

Nelnet is hiring for a software engineering role focused on building backend services in C#/.NET and frontend Angular apps, with containerized deployments and IaC-driven workflows. The position emphasizes secure coding, testing, and high-volume workflows.

The hybrid role requires in-office presence around Lincoln, NE; Centennial, CO; or Madison, WI within a 30-mile radius, with a standard hybrid schedule and US citizenship + ability to obtain a 6C federal security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of software development experience; junior candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Participate in solution design to satisfy a wide range of business needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements and create design documents and specifications.
• Adhere to best practices and standards in technology and security.
• Provide post-implementation support including monitoring and debugging.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and how they can deliver business solutions.
