We are looking for inquisitive, well-rounded Backend Engineers to join our Core and Monetization teams.

Working closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers, you'll play an important role in enabling the newest technologies and experiences. You will build robust frameworks and features, empower both developers and Pinners, and find creative solutions to challenging problems. You'll also have the opportunity to lead new initiatives from inception through technical design, implementation, and release.

What you'll do:

1. Build the backend for Pinner-facing features to enhance the future of inspiration on Pinterest.
2. Contribute to and lead each step of the product development process, from ideation to release, including rapid prototyping, A/B testing, and scalable solution architecture.
3. Partner with design, product, and backend teams to build end-to-end functionalities.
4. Suggest new product ideas and features by putting on your Pinner hat.
5. Use automated testing to ensure high-quality, reliable features, taking responsibility for your components.
6. Grow as an engineer by collaborating with world-class peers on impactful projects.

What we're looking for:

1. 2+ years of industry backend development experience, building consumer or business-facing products.
2. Proficiency in common backend tech stacks for RESTful APIs, storage, caching, and data processing.
3. Experience following best practices in writing reliable, maintainable code used by other engineers.
4. Ability to stay updated with new technologies and determine their relevance for our work.
5. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
