Job summary

Reliance Health is actively seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that power our core products. The role requires collaboration with product, frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems.

You will implement TypeScript/Node.js/Express solutions, work with MySQL via Sequelize, and participate in architecture discussions. A strong focus on performance, security, and test automation will define success in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
• Solid understanding of REST API design principles and best practices.
• Proficiency with MySQL and ORM frameworks (preferably Sequelize).
• Experience with asynchronous programming, error handling, and performance optimization in Node.js.
• Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, or Nomad).
• Experience with Git-based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, or similar).
• Nice to Have: Familiarity with PHP/Laravel for interaction with legacy platform.
• Nice to Have: Understanding of security best practices for backend services.
• Nice to Have: Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress).
• Nice to Have: Exposure to distributed or microservices-based architectures.

We’re currently hiring for a Backend Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs that power our core products. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to define problems clearly, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The engineer will collaborate closely with product, frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure systems.
