Job summary

Orfium is seeking a Software Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain backend services powering our applications, collaborating in a global, hybrid environment.

You’ll build scalable software, participate in technical discussions, and help deliver high-quality solutions for the music industry. You’ll work with Django/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and cloud platforms, while mentoring peers and continuously improving your skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building production-grade software with a modern web framework (e.g., Django, FastAPI, Rails, Laravel, Spring, Express).
• Experience with object-oriented development (e.g., Python, Ruby, Java, C#).
• Hands-on SQL experience with PostgreSQL.
• Write organized, clean code and use Git for version control.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and build features for our B2B products.
• Propose solutions and participate in team meetings.
• Review code from teammates to ensure quality.
• Document work in a clean and simple way.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Software Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain the backend services that power Orfium's applications. Working as part of a collaborative Agile team, you'll build scalable and reliable software, contribute to technical discussions, and help deliver high-quality solutions that support the global music industry. You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers, take ownership of your work, and continuously grow your technical skills.

Responsibilities

You will be part of an Agile Team and will:

• Maintain & Build - new features for our B2B products.
• Propose - solutions and participate in team meetings.
• Review - your team's code.
• Document - your work in a clean & simple way
• Mentor - engineers, share knowledge and support their growth.
• Design, Implement & Deliver - complex features and systems in an autonomous manner.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of working experience in creating and maintaining software systems in production environments with a modern Web Development Framework (e.g. Django, FastAPI, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, Spring, ExpressJS).

• Experience with object-oriented development (e.g. Python, Ruby, Java, C#).
• Hands-on SQL experience (preferably with PostgreSQL).
• Write organized and clean code.
• Excellent understanding of Version Control (preferably with Git).
• Understanding of Modern System Architectures, Design Patterns, Data Structures.
• Willingness to continuously learn and become better.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Expertise in Django/FastAPI Framework.
• Experience with cloud service providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with NoSQL DBs.
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with consuming third-party APIs.
• Experience in software development methodologies (e.g. TDD, DDD, BDD).
