BTI360 is seeking a Backend Python Software Engineer to join a high-impact team reimagining the U.S. government's terrorist screening process with user-centered design and cloud-native architecture.

You will work on production-grade services, APIs, and data access layers, collaborating closely with mission users to deliver fast, secure solutions. In this role, you will participate in code reviews, leverage modern build tools, and contribute to DevSecOps pipelines while developing in a Lean Agile

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree or equivalent experience (not specified in ad, but required equivalent practical knowledge).
• Proficient in Python backend development with modern web frameworks (FastAPI preferred).
• Experience building scalable backend services and APIs in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CodeBuild, or Jenkins).
• Familiarity with REST/HTTP, containerized deployments, and testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest).
• Ability to write maintainable, testable, and well-documented code in a fast-paced mission-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in Lean Agile teams to build mission-critical production applications for data discovery and analysis.
• Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Design, implement, test, and optimize backend services and APIs with reactive programming concepts.
• Integrate with cloud services and data platforms to expose high-value data securely and efficiently.
• Contribute to DevSecOps pipelines, containers, and modern deployment tools for reliable releases.
• Maintain high-quality code and documentation as part of CI/CD workflows.
