Job summary

Comcast Corp. is seeking a Software Engineer (Engineer 3) to build scalable backend microservices and multi-tenant platform infrastructure for our AI Ops platform.

You will work on high-throughput APIs, pragmatic engineering, and integration of AI-enabled capabilities across modern and legacy systems. The role emphasizes production-grade delivery, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and operating in a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, scaling, and operating distributed backend systems.
• Proven experience designing GraphQL and REST APIs for complex system communication.
• Hands-on experience deploying and scaling real-world AI/ML use cases, tools, and API wrappers.
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases at scale.
• Advanced proficiency in Python (and/or Go, Java, or C++).
• Preferred: Docker, Kubernetes, cloud/cluster environments.
• Exposure to telemetry, monitoring, and MLOps tools.
• Ability to work with external engineering teams and design complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale production-grade systems supporting core platform capabilities.
• Develop high-throughput microservices, API layers, and backend infrastructure.
• Integrate AI Ops platform tools, services, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Create GraphQL and REST APIs for platform communication and data exchange.
• Build wrappers, gateway routers, and middleware around AI/ML models.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases for high throughput.
• Implement telemetry, logging, and performance metrics across clusters.
• Containerize and deploy services using CI/CD pipelines and orchestration.
