Job summary

PRI Technology is seeking a senior Backend Java consultant to join a top-tier financial services client in Midtown. You will help deploy and redesign microservices across an AWS-backed distributed platform and contribute to AI-driven initiatives.

The role is 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, offering a challenging environment where you design scalable services, collaborate with senior engineers, and ensure robust deployment and operations of Java backend systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience developing Java applications.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
• Experience architecting scalable, distributed systems.
• Experience collaborating across multiple engineering teams to deliver complex initiatives.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Job description

I am looking for a high level Backend Java consultant to join the team at one of our top tier financial services client located in Midtown. This is a working with a distributed Java services platform running across infrastructure and AWS for AI driven initiatives. This is more of a backend engineer that will help deploy and redesign microservices for the teams AI initiatives.

This is 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Hourly rate is $100-$110/hr

Responsibilities

• Work alongside our senior engineers to design and build the next generation of our Java search platform architecture.
• Design scalable, maintainable microservices with clear ownership boundaries and well-defined APIs.
• Improve deployment, release, and Java backend operational processes to enable teams to develop and ship independently.
• Collaborate across multiple engineering teams to plan and execute incremental platform migrations with minimal disruption.
• Take ownership of technical solutions from design and implementation through production deployment and support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing backend systems using Java
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
