HelloGov AI, Inc. in Miami is seeking a hands-on Back-End Software Engineer to join our on-site team.

You will build production-ready features within an established NestJS/TypeScript stack, design scalable APIs, and collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver secure, reliable services. The role emphasizes real-time capabilities using Socket.io and WebSockets, PostgreSQL data models, and integrations with third-party services like Twilio.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and NestJS (or similar backend frameworks).
• Ability to design, build, and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database design.
• Knowledge of real-time technologies such as Socket.io, WebSockets, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI-powered applications, LLM integrations, and modern AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve backend services using TypeScript and NestJS.
• Design, develop, and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Develop real-time features using Socket.io and WebSockets.
• Integrate with Twilio for Voice, TaskRouter, Sync workflows.
• Collaborate with Front-End team using Next.js.
• Model databases with PostgreSQL and optimize queries.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in reviews.
• Work with Product, QA, and Engineering to plan and deliver features on schedule.
• Take ownership from ticket to production deployment.
