Job summary

Esri's Professional Services team is seeking a backend software engineer to develop APIs, data capabilities and integrations across Python, Java/Node.js and cloud environments. This role supports Defense and Intelligence missions in Redlands, CA, with relocation assistance.

The successful candidate will design scalable backend services, work with ArcGIS Enterprise, and contribute to secure software architectures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Experience developing backend services with Python, JavaScript/Node.js, and Java.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs and service-based architectures.
• Experience extending or integrating with ArcGIS Enterprise or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with geoprocessing workflows, proxies and GIS automation tasks.
• Experience in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong API design, system design, and debugging distributed services.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• US citizenship with Active/Current Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Mathematics, GIS, or STEM.
