Job summary

DoorDash is seeking Backend Engineers to build and maintain a large-scale, 24x7 global infrastructure powering a three-sided marketplace. You will own backend services, define architecture, and work across product teams to deliver scalable solutions in a hybrid office setting.

You’ll tackle performance, security, and reliability improvements, transition toward microservices, and contribute to cutting-edge logistics challenges with a focus on real-world impact.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years industry experience with backend tech stacks.
• Experience with REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design.
• Experience with service oriented architecture and HTTP/REST.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ).

Responsibilities

• Develop, release and run large-scale web applications.
• Define backend architecture and tech stack for product areas.
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability and security of backend systems.
• Transition monolithic codebase to microservices architecture.
