Job summary

Veryable, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer specializing in Backend technologies to join our Product Engineering team in Dallas. You will build robust services and APIs, own features end-to-end, mentor junior engineers, and uphold high standards with TDD.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years with relational databases, RESTful APIs, microservices, and CI/CD tooling. This role requires in-office work at our Downtown Dallas headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of industry experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• 3+ years with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Circle CI and owning the release process.
• Detail-oriented with a proven ability to take on complex problems, break them down, and drive optimal solutions.
• A relentless curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement, coupled with a winning attitude.
• Able to work in-office at our headquarters in Downtown Dallas.

Responsibilities

• Build robust services and APIs to power existing and new features for our web and mobile apps
• Own the entire development lifecycle of select roadmap features, including design, development, testing, release and post-release support
• Interact with internal users to support them, receive feedback, and plan new features for the platform
• Contribute to the growth of the team by mentoring junior engineers and performing code reviews to maintain high quality standards.
• Drive the adoption of high-quality code standards and maintainability through the practice of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing comprehensive automated tests
• Handle incidents on-call and participate in postmortem analysis and remediation efforts
