Job summary

Redwire Space is seeking a Back End Software Engineer to join our Chantilly, VA team for 100% on-site work. You will contribute to concept of operations development, mission solution design, and strategic analysis for spacecraft programs supporting National Security Space.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in backend or systems software, strong Python/C++/Rust skills, and experience with real-time processing, GPU computing, and API design. US citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience in backend, high-performance, or systems-level software.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust with experience building high-performance or low-latency services.
• Experience with real-time or near-real-time processing pipelines and deterministic execution.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to concept of operations development, mission solution design, and strategic analysis for spacecraft programs.
• Develop and optimize backend services and APIs (GraphQL/REST) for data-intensive simulations.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and modeling experts to integrate simulations with hardware and mission data.
