The Codest is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) with a Full-Stack mindset to join an AI-first engineering team delivering financial solutions. You will design and build scalable backend systems, leverage Databricks, and collaborate with frontend teammates to deliver robust software in an international environment.
We value strong problem-solving, independence, and experience with cloud-native architectures, Docker, and modern development practices.
Competenze
- Minimum 6 years of commercial Python backend experience.
- Senior-level software engineering capable of independent design, development and delivery.

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Python) with a Full-Stack mindset to join an innovative, AI-first engineering team working on solutions for a leading financial group in Japan. You will contribute to the development and evolution of modern financial applications, focusing on building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. The role involves designing and developing end-to-end software solutions leveraging Databricks, going beyond traditional data processing to build robust applications, services, and integrated systems. Senior Solution Engineer, you will take ownership of backend development, contribute to architectural decisions, and translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions. While the primary focus is on Python backend engineering, the role also offers opportunities to work with frontend technologies such as Vue.js. Advanced frontend expertise is not required, but openness to learning and contributing across the application stack is highly valued. The project follows a Claude Code approach, where AI-powered development tools, coding assistants, and modern automation solutions are incorporated into everyday engineering workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, and support innovative problem-solving. - Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services using Python.
- Building end-to-end software solutions leveraging Databricks, including application components, integrations, and backend services.
