Job summary

SupplyHouse.com, a leading e-commerce company, is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for our platform and internal operations. This full-time, remote role offers flexibility in work hours with periodic travel to Melville, NY headquarters.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software and improve internal tooling. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of backend or full-stack experience, strong Java and Spring Boot skills,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on backend/full-stack development experience.
  • Proficiency in Java and experience with Spring Boot framework.
  • Strong understanding of database design, RDBMS concepts, and SQL.
  • Experience with RESTful API design and integration.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working within agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team environment.
  • High proficiency in written and verbal English communication.

About The Role

We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our IT team. This full-time, remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that enhance our e-commerce platform and internal operations. Reporting to the Full Stack Team Lead, the ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance software solutions. The role involves building robust backend systems, improving internal tools, and ensuring system reliability to support our growing business needs. This position provides flexibility in work hours, with scheduled travel to our headquarters in Melville, NY, three times per year. The Backend Engineer will play a crucial role in driving technological innovation and operational efficiency within our organization.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in backend and/or full-stack development
  • Proficiency in Java and experience with Spring Boot framework
