Job summary

Rogo is hiring a Backend Software Engineer for the Internal Automation team in New York. You will own services, data pipelines, and automation that reduce manual work across CRM, billing, and customer interactions.

You will build reliable, scalable production backends and agent workflows that run without human oversight. You will work with TypeScript on backend services, plus a second language like Java or Python, deploying on GCP, and ensuring robust observability and data security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping backend systems end to end.
• Strong TypeScript for backend services and APIs; Java/Python or similar is a plus.
• Experience deploying services on GCP or equivalent cloud stack.
• Strong SQL skills and data modeling with other systems.
• Experience with LLMs in production: prompting, tool calling, retrieval, and guardrails.
• Ability to integrate third-party APIs (REST, webhooks, auth, rate limits).
• Knowledge of asynchronous patterns: queues, background jobs, retries, observability.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders; autonomous, owner mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own internal systems end to end from conception to deployment.
• Build the internal data layer across multiple source systems.
• Ship and maintain agent workflows that perform real work automatically.
• Automate provisioning, onboarding, and account setup for customers.
• Work with the company's AI tech and ensure secure data handling.
