Job summary

Socure is seeking a Software Engineer for the Document Verification (DocV) team to build and enhance core server-side components for identity verification. You will design microservices, APIs, and backend workflows that integrate ML models, ensuring fast, secure document processing at scale.

You will collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Infrastructure teams to translate requirements into robust backend solutions, drive reliability, and own architectural decisions for scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building backend services or distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency in Golang and API frameworks.
• Experience with gRPC and RESTful APIs.
• Experience designing scalable, high-availability microservices in cloud environments.
• Security best practices for handling PII.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services: design, build, and support robust, scalable APIs for identity document processing and verification.
• Cross-functional collaboration: partner with Product, Data Science/ML, and Infra to deliver features and translate ML outputs into backend solutions.
• Improve code quality and practices: champion testing, reviews, performance optimizations, security, and CI/CD for DocV backends.
• Own backend architecture: make API design and microservice decisions for scalability and secure data handling.
• Optimize performance and reliability: analyze metrics and optimize response times and uptime.
• Integrate ML/CV capabilities: collaborate with data scientists to deploy ML models in the DocV backend.
• Collaborate with frontend/mobile teams: define API contracts and support integration testing.
