Octopus Energy Group is seeking a Backend Engineer II (US) to join our global backend team in Houston, TX. You will develop and maintain robust backend systems that support time-of-use tariffs, meter readings, and large-scale customer tools.

You will collaborate with cross-country teams, model domain objects, and implement GraphQL APIs using Python and Django, with Celery for asynchronous processing and PostgreSQL as the data store.

Octopus Energy Engineering builds the services and tariffs used by millions of customers worldwide, from cutting‑edge time‑of‑use tariffs to client‑facing tools for meter readings and more. Your work will join a global backend team that pushes the energy revolution forward.

What you’ll do
