Dreams 2 Reality Recruitment is seeking a Backend Engineer in Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY to design and scale data-processing pipelines that de-identify enterprise data for AI training. You will own backend systems end-to-end, ensure data quality, and build observability tools in collaboration with ML, security, and platform teams.

The role requires 3–10 years in backend engineering, a top-tier undergraduate STEM degree, and willingness to work on-site five days per week.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of software engineering experience with production backend ownership.
• Experience shipping and operating production software in multi-stage, high-volume data-processing environments.
• Undergraduate STEM degree from a top-30 U.S. institution.
• Strong understanding of distributed and asynchronous backend systems (queues, concurrency, idempotency, retries).
• Full-time, on-site five days per week in Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY (required).
• Proficiency in a general-purpose backend language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale multi-stage data-processing pipelines that de-identify sensitive enterprise data.
• Own backend systems end-to-end from architecture to production monitoring and recovery.
• Develop safeguards to detect silent failures and data-quality issues before delivery to customers.
• Build reliable retries, checkpoints, backfills, and rollback mechanisms across asynchronous workflows.
• Develop internal tools and dashboards to monitor pipeline performance and data quality.
• Collaborate with ML, security, and platform engineers to expand processing capabilities.
