Job summary

Cyberhaven is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, build, and evolve scalable backend infrastructure powering its data security platform in the United States. You will tackle distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and cloud-native workloads with a hands-on, architecture‑driven approach.

You will own critical services end-to-end, drive architectural decisions, and mentor teams on best practices while maintaining production stability and cost efficiency across large data

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience building production backend systems.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and fault tolerance.
• Proficiency in Go or equivalent backend language with ability to learn Go quickly.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or SQS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve scalable distributed backend systems and high-throughput data pipelines.
• Develop reliable, high-performance services with concurrency, efficiency, and fault tolerance.
• Design and improve event-driven architectures and asynchronous workflows.
• Solve complex challenges around consistency, retries, idempotency, deduplication, backpressure, and failure recovery.
• Make architectural decisions regarding storage, messaging, and data processing strategies.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve throughput, latency, and resource utilization.
• Drive architectural modernization while maintaining production stability.
• Own critical services end-to-end from design to deployment and operations.
• Lead design discussions and establish engineering best practices.
• Collaborate across teams to define technical direction and platform capabilities.
