Rippling is seeking a Software Engineer II, Backend for the Financial Product team to design, implement, and test backend services that power core financial capabilities across payroll, spend, and tax workflows.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate across teams, and optimize for reliability and scale while contributing to a global FinTech platform. This role is based in the US with SF Bay Area alignment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a backend engineer with production language experience (Python/Go).
• Strong relational database experience, especially PostgreSQL.
• Ability to design scalable APIs and data models.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test reliable backend services and APIs at scale.
• Work across API design, data modeling, event modeling, and performance optimization.
• Own feature development lifecycle from implementation to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and learn from system feedback.
