Job summary

Invertops is seeking a platform backend engineer to own the event-sourced job model powering dispatch, billing and inventory. You will design the append-only log, build auditable APIs, and package the stack for on-prem deployments.

You will work on distributed systems with a strong emphasis on correctness, observability, and money-sensitive operations, using TypeScript/Node and Postgres.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend systems in production.
• Strong grasp of consistency and idempotency in distributed systems.
• Experience with event-sourced or event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the append-only job event log and projections (billing, dispatch, margin).
• Build idempotent, auditable APIs for supervised automation—propose, validate, approve, apply, with compensating actions.
• Own the private-deployment story: package the stack for on-prem and customer VPC with infrastructure-as-code.
• Write guardrails and evals to keep AI-proposed actions safe on the auto-approve path.
