Job summary

TwelveLabs in San Francisco seeks a senior backend engineer to own and evolve internal data and evaluation platforms used across teams. You will design scalable data models, APIs, and services that power model evaluation, dataset discovery, and tooling at scale.

You will integrate customer signals, ensure secure access across multi-cloud environments, and drive end-to-end internal products from prototype to production with broad impact.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend systems that scale to handle large data.
• Strong design sense for data models, services, and APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and secure access controls.

Responsibilities

• Unify the internal data and evaluation platform for everyday use by science, product, and engineering teams.
• Build a secure access layer over petabyte-scale data across clouds with proper data governance.
• Bring real customer signals into the loop to ground datasets and evaluations in actual behavior.
• Support internal agentic content curation tools, moving prototypes to production with access controls.
