Looq AI is seeking a Back-End Engineer to own the foundational cloud infrastructure and API services that scale our platform. You will design, build, and operate distributed systems, data pipelines, and high-availability APIs in a secure AWS environment.

You’ll collaborate with data scientists and platform engineers to provision and automate cloud resources, optimize API performance, and maintain continuous delivery. Work is fully remote or hybrid, with competitive base pay and strong benefits.

We're looking for a Back-End Engineer to own the foundational Cloud infrastructure and API services that enable our platform's scale and reliability. This role is a critical blend of software engineering and DevOps, focusing on designing, building, and scaling our core distributed systems, data processing pipelines, and high-availability APIs gateway.

You'll work closely with data scientists, platform engineers, and core product teams to provision, automate, and secure the cloud resources that handle vast amounts of survey-grade data. If you thrive on building resilient AWS infrastructure, maximizing API performance, and maintaining continuous delivery, you'll be a vital part of our team.

Technical Proficiency

Cloud Expertise: Deep, demonstrable experience with a major cloud provider, preferably AWS (e.g. VPC, ECS/EKS, S3, Lambda, SQS, RDS, etc.).

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proven proficiency with Terraform or similar tools for managing cloud environments.

Languages: Strong experience with Python or Node.js for writing performant back-end services and Lambda functions.

APIs & Data: Expertise in designing REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs, and solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) in a high-throughput environment.

Containerization: Strong practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes EKS/ECS orchestration.

Systems Monitoring: Experience implementing and maintaining production-grade monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting tools.

Bonus: Experience with event streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis and microservices patterns.

What We're Looking For

Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

4-7 years of experience in a specialized Back-End, Cloud, or DevOps Engineering role.

Proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native production systems and API gateways.

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, particularly in distributed environments.

Thoughtful about security, documentation, and system resilience.

Able to work autonomously while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
