Job summary

LandEarly is building an auto-apply platform that helps job seekers find fresh postings, tailor their resumes and cover letters, and submit applications while roles are still new. We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the systems powering job matching, application automation, and integrations with external platforms.

You will own data models, APIs, and backend services, collaborating with product and frontend engineers to ship features end-to-end while maintaining

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services in languages such as Python, Node.js, Go, Java, or Ruby.
• Strong understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs and familiarity with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support core product features

• Own data models and database schemas, ensuring performance and reliability as usage grows

What we're looking for

• Professional experience building backend services in a language such as Python, Node.js, Go, Java, or Ruby
• Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with attention to system reliability and data integrity
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities

Nice to have

• Experience working with third-party API integrations at scale
• Experience with background job processing and queueing systems
• Familiarity with building systems that handle high-volume, real-time data updates
