YipitData is hiring a Backend Engineer in the Data Feeds team. This fully-remote role is based in India, with standard hours 8 am–5 pm IST. You’ll build and optimize scalable data pipelines and data services, partnering with global teams to deliver high-availability systems.

We expect 4+ years of software development, strong CS fundamentals, and proficiency in Python, Golang or Java. Experience with Kafka, databases, and cloud-native tech is a plus.

As a Backend Engineer in the Data Feeds Team, You Will be Responsible for:

• Data Pipelines Maestro : You’ll be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining super-scalable data pipelines. Whether it’s structured data flowing like a well-oiled stream or unstructured data that needs taming, you’ve got to make sure these pipelines are top-notch for seamless processing.
• Data Systems Guardian : Existing data systems and services. You bet you’ll be the one maintaining and enhancing their stability, reliability, and ensuring high availability. Think of yourself as the shield that keeps our data world running smoothly.
• Data Architecture Builder : Team up with our amazing crew to construct and refine an expandable, high-performance data architecture. It’s like building a digital skyscraper, but with data blocks!
• Data Services Provider : Partner with different teams across the board. Your mission is to serve up high-quality, rock-solid data services to all our internal users. They’ll be relying on you like a lifeline for their data needs.
• Business-Aligned Data Designer : Get the hang of product and business requirements. Then, design and implement data functionalities that are not only useful but also come with super- intuitive data visualizations. Make data come alive!

This is a fully-remote opportunity based in India. Standard work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm IST.

You Are Likely To Succeed If you have or you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a top-tier (Tier 1/2) institution
• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals with core data structures and advanced algorithms
• Excellent in one of the following languages: Python / Golang / Java (Python is the most preferred)

Proficiency with messaging platforms (Kafka, RMQ, SQS) and relational/NoSQL datastores (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, HBase, Redis, Aerospike, etc.).

• Experience in architecture and developing large-scale distributed systems.

• Familiarity with microservice architecture, API gateway patterns, and service observability (logging, tracing, metrics).

• Proven track record building and operating systems with strict latency and reliability requirements in 24/7 environments, including:

  • High-performance, high-uptime (99.99%+) systems
  • Self-recoverable architectures
  • Container/VM orchestration platforms
  • Bonus: RPC frameworks (gRPC/Protobuf, Thrift)

• Strong architectural expertise with modern backend stacks ( Go, Python, Java, Node.js ) and cloud platforms ( AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes/Docker )

• Excellent logic analysis capabilities, able to abstract and split business logic reasonably.

• Strong ownership, self-motivation, and the ability to deliver independently while also collaborating effectively.

• Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and org-wide strategies to engineers, cross-functional partners, and executives.

Nice to have (Optional)

• Knowledge of security best practices, authentication/authorization, and performance tuning for high-traffic systems.
• Knowledge of AI agent/harness, focus on how to use AI to improve work efficiency or restructure work patterns
• Experience with DevOps practices
