GlideWay LLC is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and maintain the services that power rides, dispatch, payments, and location. You will focus on correctness, security, and reliability so riders, drivers, and operations teams can depend on the platform around the clock.

You will design and build RESTful APIs, work with PostgreSQL, and integrate Stripe payments while ensuring secure, scalable systems. Familiarity with real-time tech and observability is valued as the platform grows.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating REST APIs.
• Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL or another relational database.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and common API security practices.
• Comfort working with Git, code review, and automated testing.

As a Backend Engineer at GlideWay, you will design and maintain the services behind every trip: ride lifecycle, dispatch, payments, communication, and location. You will focus on correctness, security, and reliability so that riders, drivers, and operations teams can depend on the platform at all hours.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend APIs and services in Node.js.
• Develop ride lifecycle systems, from request and matching through completion.
• Build and maintain real-time communication using sockets.
• Maintain payment integrations, including Stripe, with careful handling of money movement.
