Job summary

York Solutions, LLC is seeking a senior software engineer to design and deliver scalable backend services. You will develop production-grade applications in Java or Kotlin (Spring Boot) and leverage Python for automation and AI tooling.

You will own features end-to-end and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong microservices experience, Docker/Kubernetes, and solid GitHub workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and support scalable production services, APIs, pipelines, and related back-end capabilities.
• Develop production applications using Java or Kotlin, preferably in a Spring Boot environment.
• Use Python to support automation, engineering tooling, back-end services, and AI/agent-related capabilities.
• Design, develop, and integrate microservices and REST APIs within established enterprise architecture.
• Own delivery of moderately complex features or workstreams, translating requirements into actionable tasks.
• Troubleshoot application and service issues across development and production environments and implement durable fixes.
• Work with containerized applications and established Docker/Kubernetes environments.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, and software delivery practices.
• Participate in pull requests, code reviews, branching, and collaborative development using GitHub.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and blockers and work independently to drive delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and help unblock other engineers when appropriate.

Must Have

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with strong experience developing and supporting production applications and back-end services.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Java or Kotlin, preferably Spring Boot.
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing microservices and REST APIs in production environments.
• Hands-on Python development experience supporting automation, engineering tooling, back-end services, and/or AI agent capabilities.
• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes in application development, deployment, or production-support environments.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automated software-delivery practices, and established engineering standards.
• Strong working knowledge of Git/GitHub workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, branching, and collaborative source control.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex application or service issues and implement production-quality solutions.
• Ability to independently own moderately complex engineering work and deliver within established architecture and technical direction.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing or integrating AI-enabled applications, AI agents, or AI/ML services.
• Experience working with cybersecurity platforms, products, or engineering teams.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar messaging platforms.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or comparable relational/NoSQL data stores.
