Job description

A client is looking for a Backend Development Engineerwho will be responsible for software development, design, coding, debugging, and migration of Search reporting tools to Cloud AWS/GCP.



Location:New York, NY 10003 (REMOTE)

Preferred Time Zone:EST

Position:Backend Development Engineer

Pay Rate:$45 - $55/hr. on W2 (depending on experience)

Duration:12months

Hours:1 st shift, M-F, 40 hrs. a week, must be flexible to work EST

Interview Process: 2 interview rounds

Coding test: Required (80% and above)

Screening Questionnaire: Required

3+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development

Strong proficiency in Python

Experience with distributed processing tools like Apache Spark

Solid SQL skills and experience with both relational and NoSQL databases

Hands-on with GCP or AWS and relevant cloud APIs

Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and testing frameworks

Strong communication and time management; can operate independently

Key projects or initiatives for the role: Migration of Search reporting tools to Cloud AWS/GCP

Success metrics or KPIs for this role: Successful migration to cloud and deprecating on-prem tools

How is success measured? Parity of Cloud Tools with on-prem Tools supporting all reporting use cases with no business impact.
