Job summary

MasterBorn is seeking a Backend Developer to join a team delivering Python/ Django solutions for US clients. You will work with React, Node.js, and TypeScript in a flexible time zone, contributing to FinTech, SportsTech, MedTech and more.

The role is fully remote with optional hybrid/onsite, in a fast-growing company that values learning and collaboration. You will write clean Python, build with Django and REST APIs, and collaborate across squads while improving the product and documenting work.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of commercial experience with Python
• Understand Python fundamentals (3.10+), type hints, OOP, data structures, and write clean, readable code
• Basic experience with Django - core features (models, views, ORM, migrations) and at least one Django project
• Familiarity with building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Know SOLID and DRY, design patterns and clean code practices
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and Django ORM
• Experience with Git
• Open-source contributions
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and teamwork
• Experience with Django REST Framework or other Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask)
• Familiarity with Django Admin
• Experience with automated testing (pytest)
• Experience with Celery and Redis
• Experience with payment/billing or email providers (Stripe, Zuora)
• Knowledge of AWS and Serverless concepts
• Experience running Docker images
• Strong project work and collaboration

Salary

• Understand Python (Python 3.10+) fundamentals, type hints, OOP principles, common data structures, and know how to write clean, readable and maintainable code
• Basic experience with Django - know its core features (models, views, ORM, migrations), worked on at least 1 project involving Django
• Would be great to have commercial experience in it
• Familiarity with building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Know what OOP is, understand basic good practices and data structures, want to have a SOLID and DRY code with the use of design patterns
• Know how to use AI (Claude Code preferred), but understand the consequences of its use and can independently write code without its support
• Have worked with SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) - can write basic SQL queries and use them alongside Django ORM
• Experience with Git
• Open-source contributions
• Understand what Agile/Scrum is and want to work as a team towards one goal
• Understand the significance of MVP and aim to deliver top-notch results, even amid tight project timelines
• Experience with Django REST Framework or other Python frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Flask)
