What is the role?

The Backend engineer will contribute to the implementation of the company’s strategic initiatives by developing backend services and features that support our core platform. This includes working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, translating them into actionable tasks, and collaborating with other developers to ensure high-quality delivery. The ideal candidate will be eager to take ownership of key components, contribute to technical discussions, and grow their expertise in building scalable, maintainable systems. We are looking for an individual with an AI-forward mindset with experience using AI and LLMs to streamline the software development lifecycle— whether its automating QA processes, enhancing debugging, or speeding up prototyping.

What you’ll do on a daily basis:

• Develop back-end systems primarily in .NET (5.0+), with additional support for Node.js and TypeScript as needed.
• Enhance and optimize current back-end systems.
• Assist with QA test automation; bonus points for using AI tooling.
• Identify opportunities to optimize internal processes and patterns using AI-centric approaches (think Zapier, n8n, Make).
• Develop and maintain AI agents for both internal and customer-facing use.
• Collaborate across teams, including front-end development, data engineering, and quality assurance.
• Help us be the best at what we do.

What background should you have?

• Expertise working with .NET 5.0+ framework (C#) in production environments.
• Familiarity with Node.js and React is a plus.
• Experience with AWS-hosted applications and AWS Elastic Container Service/container orchestration.
• Experience developing and optimizing backend APIs.
• Comfortable bridging traditional development with emerging AI capabilities—not just as an end-user, but as a builder who knows how to augment development pipelines with AI-native approaches.
• Experience with or understanding of integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic) into applications.
• What Will Make You Stand Out: Understanding of concepts related to AI agents, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and interaction with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate)
